Available Lenses Forms
Single Vision Distance, Reading or Intermediate usage
Bifocals: Provide two corrections with the lenses split into 2 , the top half usually for distance vision while the lower half is used for focusing on near objects.
Varifocals: These lenses have no visible lines , they provide continuous vision adjustment as power changes, from distance at the top to closer vision at the bottom of the lens.
Coatings and Tints
Hard Coating: Reduces\ Prevents scratches on plastic lenses
Anti Reflection Coating: Reduces glare and prevents reflections from lenses
Tint \ UV: – Reduces light \ UV transmission through lenses
Transitions Lenses: change colour according to level of brightness.
Polarising Lenses: Best for sun protection as they only allow light vibrating in one direction to pass through the lens.
Available Lens Materials
CR39: This material has increased robustness & impact resistance – has replaced glass as the material of choice for nearly all spectacles types.
Polycarbonate: This material offers high energy impact protection, is light weight and thinner than CR39. It is the material of choice for safety glasses.
High lndex lens materials are between 20 – 30 % thinner and lighter than standard plastic lenses. Always provided with an anti-reflective coating.
